Birds / Fightin' Quakers - Week III

Bring on the Steelers!

Sooooooooo, was monday's game vs. the Cowboys the product of a pumped up team playing a bitter division rival? Are the birds THAT good? are we in for a letdown? a hangover on a short week?

I think the offense is scary good. As long as the offensive line gives donovan time to operate and they convert better in the red zone, they will continue to put up points in bunches (genius. Westbrook will continue to be a monster and Desean Jackson will continue to put up numbers (and hold the ball until he actually crosses the goal line). It remains to be seen how the return of Reggie "hands like feet" Brown will help the offense. I'm not sure if he's really any better than jason avant, hank baskett or greg lewis.

the defense needs to tighten up. LBs and Dawkins have a bunch to prove today. gotta keep the steelers drives short, contain willie parker's running lanes and keep Big Ben in the pocket. Watch for the deep ball to Santonio Holmes and keep tabs on Hines Ward near the end zone. Keep coverage downfield on Heath Miller - particularly after how Jason Witten owned the LBs and Dawkins on Monday. Apparently Big Ben has an injured shoulder, so let's hope the DEs can get to him early and often and make him think about how much it hurts.

Eagles 24, Steelers 14

Our EPark Fightin' Quakers take on two teams today in Conference USA action: ... Parma Pink Flamingos and the Chicago Motors ... both games are projected Ws, but as we all know, anything can and will happen in the NFL. Tomlinson will probably play on Monday, but the projecctions fall short, i thnk. Playing QB roulette led me to starting Favre @ SD (got torched by Cutler last Sunday) over Warner (hot, hot, hot last week, but against a WEAK Dolphins squad) @ Wash. That's the thinking as of 9:30 a.m. Also concerned about McFadden getting No. 1 reps b/c of his injury. Let the games begin!

Wow. Danr near an all-AFC lineup there. Good luck today. That's a high scoring league. I traded carson palmer this week, so of course he goes off .... my usual liuck.
